What I do

My expertise

Although I am a Chartered Management Accountant I have been accused by some people of not being like most of the accountants they know – I take that as a complement.  I work on designing system and process training that is cost effective.  My job is to demonstrate our training delivers return on investment – if it doesn’t – we don’t do it.

A little bit about my past

I have worked in about a dozen different industries as a Finance Professional.  I have worked in Aviation to High-Tech and a wide variety of other businesses as well.  I have lead and been involved in a number of culture change programmes focusing on Finance Departments and enjoy the challenge of changing attitudes and perceptions.  As an accountant I know business is about the “numbers” – training and development has to pay back the investment – and I love it when I can show it does!

Life isn’t all about work; in my spare time I…

regularly swim in the sea near Weymouth.  I also kayak and windsurf when I get the time.  If it’s raining I love to read and learn new languages – I spent a month in Spain a couple of years back learning the language and I’m hooked on learning other languages now.
